Conical or parallel: what should I identify?
Start with the actual assembly drawing. A conical pair changes diameter along its length; a parallel pair has a different geometry. Identify the screw pair, matched barrel, both ends and machine reference before comparing options.
Which drawing information is most useful?
Part number, drawing number and revision, units, overall geometry, drive and head interfaces, and the components that must remain in the machine. Mark missing data explicitly.
Does Φ90/36 define an interchangeable part?
No. The initial designation is a reference, not a complete dimensional or compatibility specification. Confirm what each value means against the actual drawing.
How do I compare a treated surface and a lined barrel?
Ask for separate descriptions of body material, working surface or liner, treatment route and acceptance requirements. Review them against the actual compound and operating context.
Can a black speck identify the cause of a process problem?
Not on its own. Record timing, material changes, settings, cleaning history and inspection evidence, then review the combined information.
What should I collect for a refurbishment review?
Component identity, photographs, localized measurements, observed condition and known repair history. Repairability needs examination of the actual component and an agreed inspection scope.
